Workshop on
Intelligent Multimedia Processing for Ubiquitous Applications
In conjunction with the IEEE
SUTC2008
IEEE
International Conference on Sensor Networks, Ubiquitous, and Trustworthy
Computing
June 11-13, 2008 Taichung, Taiwan
Sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society
With the recent advances in image/video coding, speech/audio compression, networking and mobile computer power, ubiquitous access to the Internet multimedia has become a popular demand. The multimedia processing for ubiquitous applications is a science which brings together image/video coding, speech/audio compression, database systems, artificial intelligence, and etc. This workshop will cover a wide range of current subjects with a special focus on issues related with multimedia processing in mobile and ubiquitous environments. We aim to solicit papers that address the technical challenges in intelligent multimedia processing for ubiquitous applications. Through the workshop, we expect to bring together experts in analysis of ubiquitous applications, state-of-art multimedia coding techniques and mobile computing in multimedia.
Authors
are invited to submit technical papers in these or related areas. Topics of
interest include, but are not limited to:
l
Image / Video Coding
l
Speech / Audio Compression
l
Speech / Image Understanding
l
Streaming Mobile Multimedia
l
Multimedia Databases and Search Engines
l
Multimedia Information Retrieval on the
Web
l
Delivery of Multimedia Data
l
Multimedia Web Servers and Services
l
Applications: Entertainment, Learning,
etc.

Papers reporting original and unpublished research
results on the above and related topics are solicited. All submitted papers will
be refereed for quality, originality and relevance by the Program Committee. The
acceptance/rejection of the papers will be based on the review results. An
electronic version (PDF format) of the full paper should be submitted until the
paper submission deadline. Papers must be prepared in such a way that ensures
they will print anywhere. Thus, you should avoid using special fonts.
Manuscripts must be in English and should be prepared in IEEE
conference proceedings format, up to 8 pages in two-column, no less than 10 pt
font. Detailed Author Kits are available at the IEEE
SUTC2008 Conference Site.
Prospective authors are
invited to submit their paper to shchen@mail.stu.edu.tw
by Jan. 27, 2007. The
acknowledgement email for the receipt of the submitted papers will be sent
within three working days. If the authors have not received the acknowledgement
emails, they can contact us by email at shchen@mail.stu.edu.tw.
